Playwright, Sketch Writer, Ideas Man

I'm drawn to stories about maternal lineage, queer joy, and the funny, beautiful relationships that shape us. Whether I'm writing plays, creating comedy, or improvising, I love making character-driven work that leaves audiences wanting more.

My creative process is rooted in collaboration. Through The Performing Arts Project—first as a student, then later as an artistic intern and teaching assistant—I fell in love with devised theatre.

Our three-day Research & Development cycles began with messy brainstorms and "throwing spaghetti at the wall" before moving to our feet to discover connections through movement, composition, and play. It taught me to trust the process, embrace uncertainty, and find stories through doing rather than overthinking.

This idea followed me to Wright State, where studying Viewpoints deepened my love for composition and ensemble storytelling. I've always done my best work when there isn't a perfect plan—just a deadline, a room full of collaborators, and the freedom to experiment.

Writing became a natural extension of that process.

My playwriting journey began when my best friend Noel and I were searching for a funny two-person play to perform. We were too young for The Roommate, 'night, Mother was far too dark, and nothing quite fit what we wanted to make. So we wrote our own. Good To See Ya! is a two-ish-woman absurd farce about two best friends from Texas who move to New York City, start a podcast, chase their dreams, and fight rats to the death. We self-produced the show, and once I heard an audience laugh (and cry) at words I'd written, I was hooked.

Comedy quickly became another creative home. I've performed improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy while organizing open mics, producing Cards Against Humanity Live—an improv show inspired by the game—and hosting Wright State University's sketch comedy night.

The Upright Citizen's Brigade manual is my bible. Great storytelling creates the biggest laughs. Rather than chasing punchlines, I'm more interested in building honest characters, strong relationships, and scenes that earn their comedy. As a collaborator, my goal is simple: make everyone else on stage look brilliant. I spend countless hours workshopping stand-up sets with my comic friends, give notes on sketches, and highlight talented artists whose work deserves to be seen.

Whether I'm writing a new play, producing a comedy show, or telling a story without a script, I'm most interested in creating collaborative, character-driven work that invites people to laugh, connect, and leave feeling just a little more human.
